OpenRSC

At OHS2026, we want to share what we learned from making open-source eduware projects, primarily the Robot Study Companion (RSC; EE00003; rsc.ee). The RSC is a developing project that aims to design, build and validate a smart, open and affordable desktop tutor-bot. Along the way, we also learned to use it as a teaching aid for developing social robots and conducting interaction design evaluations. Participants will interact with and explore the latest candidate prototype’s snap-fit design, interaction styles, and use cases, and learn how they too can contribute. Also, while developing the RSC prototype, we wondered what to do with all the leftover 3D-printed parts, so we are turning them into art exhibits that we hope to show off at the exhibition.
