Fantasy Fibre Mill

Rosie Bristow, Nick Evans, Laura Schumaker

Fantasy Fibre Mill is an open-source textile mill project designing and building machines for processing natural fibres into yarn. We are collaborating online and in person in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands and USA on machines for processing flax, hemp, wool, cotton and cattails. We are displaying yarns we’ve been making, and parts of mahcines (the full machines are too big to bring in person!) and would love to meet other open-source hardware and textiles enthusiasts. We are aiming to make machines for small-medium scale farmers and artisans who want to build local natural fibre textiles networks, textile commons building, community projects and for experimental textiles production in educational settings.
