Molecular electronics aims to realize high-performance electronic devices built from individual organic molecules. This talk will provide an introduction to the field, before detailing the development of an open-source precision instrument used to study the electrical properties of single molecules.

Sam is a postdoctoral researcher in molecular quantum materials at Lancaster university in the UK, working on developing novel instrumentation and methods for scanning probe microscopy and molecular electronics.
